Fielding White was a photographer as shown in the 1870 Montgomery Co, Mo census. The 1880 Montgomery Co, Mo census Fielding White was a druggist and they were living in Wellsville, Mo. 8) Sandy E White (see Chapter 8c2b2c8) was born the 13th of May 1847 in Prairie Twp, Montgomery Co, Mo and living with his widow mother and attending school as shown in the 1860 Montgomery Co, Mo census. Sandy E White married Cynthia Emily Hiatt the 15th of February 1866 in Montgomery Co, Mo. Cynthia Emily was born the 23rd of November 1845 in Prairie Twp, Montgomery Co, Mo the of daughter of Benjamin Fielding Hiatt (born 20 January 1814 Ky) and Martha Ann Hill (born 6 December 1814 Tn) who married the 22nd of January 1835 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Cynthia Emily and Sandy White had four children, all born in Prairie Twp, Montgomery Co, Mo. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b2c8. Both Sandy E White and his wife Cynthia Emily [Hiatt] White and two of their children died about 1884, from a plague, possibly tuberculosis. Nelson Hocker was born the 15th of September 1811 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. Nelson Hocker married Nancy Ann Webster the 4th of September 1837 in Mercer Co, Ky. Nancy Ann was born the 12th of January 1817 Ky the daughter of Elijah Webster and Jane Raines who married the 7th of September 1815 in Mercer Co, Ky. Nancy Ann and Nelson Hocker had seven daughters, six born in Lincoln Co, Ky and one born in Hardin Co, Ky as follows: 1) Amanda Jane Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b2d1) was born in 1839 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Hardin Co, Ky. Amanda Jane Hocker married Edgar Tabb. Amanda Jane and Edgar Tabb had three sons. For information about their sons, see Chapter 8c2b2d1. Amanda Jane [Hocker] Tabb died the 19th of January 1914 in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co, Ky and is buried in the Buck Grove Cemetery, Meade Co, Ky. 2) Luivicy Hocker (see Chapter 7c2b2e1) was born in 1840 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Hardin Co, Ky. Luivicy Hocker married her first cousin (see Chapter 7c2b2e1) Larkin Sandidge the 24th of August 1859 in Hardin Co, Ky. Luivicy and Larkin Sandidge had a son and we understand he died young. For information about their son, see Chapter 7c2b2e1. Luivicy [Hocker] Sandidge died the 27th of November 1924. (Source Code – Cd 229.) 3) Frances “Fanny” Hocker (see Chapter 8e2b2d3) was born the 8th of November 1842 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Hardin Co, Ky. Frances Hocker married Thomas B Funk about 1859 in Hardin Co, Ky. Thomas was born the 7th of May 1834 in Kentucky. Fanny and Thomas had seven children as of 1880, all born in Hardin Co, Ky and living in 1880 in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co, Ky. Thomas B Funk died the 24th of July 1896 in Hardin Co, Ky and Frances [Hocker] Funk died 11th of January 1899 in Hardin Co, Ky and both are buried in the Elizabethtown Cemetery. 4) Rosa Bell Hocker (see Chapter 8e2b2d4) was born the 24th of April 1846 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Hardin Co, Ky. Rosa Bell Hocker married John Henry Sipes the 3rd of September 1867 in Hardin Co, Ky. John Henry was born the 18th of March 1842 in Hardin Co, Ky. Rosa Bell and John Henry Sipes had seven children. John Henry Sipes died the 18th of December 1918 in Meade Co, Ky and Rosa Bell [Hocker] Sipes died the 29th of November 1927 in Meade Co, Ky and both are buried in the Buck Grove Cemetery, Meade Co, Ky. That is all we know about her. 6) Mary F Hocker was born in 1849 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Hardin Co, Ky. Mary F Hocker married a “Taylor”. That is all we know about her. 7) Nancy E “Nannie” Hocker was born the 26th of March 1853 in Hardin Co, Ky and raised in Hardin Co, Ky. Nancy E Hocker married to Jim Foushee. Jim was born the 26th of March 1853. Jim Foushee died the 11th of March 1922 in Meade Co, Ky and buried in the Buck Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Matilda Hocker married James Sandidge the 8th of August 1836 in Lincoln Co, Ky. James was born in 1814 in Lincoln Co, Ky the son of John Sandidge (born 1782 Va, a farmer) and Patrica Coleman (born 1784 Va) who married the 22nd of January 1803 in Amherst Co, Va. James Sandidge was a farmer according to the 1860 Hardin Co, Ky census. Matilda and James Sandidge had six children, five born in Lincoln Co, Ky and one born in Hardin Co, Ky as follows: 1) Larkin Sandidge was born in 1837 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. Larkin Sandidge married his first cousin (see Chapter 7c2b2d2) Luivicy Hocker the 24th of August 1859 in Hardin Co, Ky. Luivicy and Larkin Sandidge had a son Agnes Hocker, born in 1842 in Lincoln Co, Ky and we understand he died young. Luivicy [Hocker] Sandidge died the 27th of November 1924. (Source Code – Cd 233.) 2) Dorcas Sandidge was born in 1839 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. Dorcas Sandidge was not with the family in 1860. 3) Fountain Coleman Sandidge (see Chapter 8c2b2e3) was born in August 1845 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co and Hardin Co, Mo. Fountain Coleman Sandidge married Margaret “Maggie”, maiden name unknown about 1875 in Hardin Co, Ky. Maggie was born in October 1851 in Kentucky. Maggie and Fountain Coleman Sandidge had seven children, all born in Hardin Co, Ky. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b2e3. The 1900 Ky sndx shows that Fountain Coleman Sandidge and Maggie and their children were living in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co, Ky. As shown in the 1910 Ky sndx Fountain Coleman Sandidge and Maggie had the following children living with them in Louisville, Jefferson Co, Ky: Ida [Sandidge] Collings and her son James Collings, Mollie Sandidge, James Sandidge jr, Leslie Sandidge, Lloyd Sandidge, and Helen Sandidge. James Sandidge sr died the 6th of August 1914 in Jefferson Co, Ky. The 1920 Ky sndx shows that Maggie is a widow and had the following children living with her at 2810 4th St, Louisville, Jefferson Co, Ky: James Sandidge, Mollie Sandidge, Leslie Sandidge, and Lloyd Sandidge. Maggie died the 19th of March 1927 in Jefferson Co, Ky. 4) James Matthew “Matt” Sandidge was born in February 1848 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co and Hardin Co, Ky. As shown in the 1860 Hardin Co, Ky census James Matthew Sandidge was attending school. According to the 1870 Hardin Co, Ky census James Matthew Sandidge was working as a clerk in a store and was living with the owner of the store, R D and Sarah Geiglugan. The 1900 Ky sndx shows James Matthew Sandidge living with Joe Wilcox (born August 1881 Ky) in Hardin Co, Ky. As shown in the 1910 Ky sndx James Matthew Sandidge was an inmate and staying with L H Mulligan in Jefferson Co, Ky. 5) Philip Y Sandidge was born in Mary 1850 in Lincoln Co, Ky and as shown in the 1860 Hardin Co, Ky census was attending school. According to the 1870 Hardin Co, Ky census Philip Sandidge was living at home with his widower father and working on the farm. The 1880 Hardin Co, Ky census shows Philip Sandidge living with his cousin Franklin Sandidge and his family and he was working as a laborer. 6) Mary Elizabeth Sandidge was born the 12th of April 1853 in Hardin Co, Ky and was attending school as shown in the 1860 Hardin Co, Ky census. Mary Elizabeth Sandidge was living with her widower father at home according to the 1870 Hardin Co, Ky census. 7c2b2f) Jefferson Hocker (see Chapter 6c2b2f). (Source Code – VEP83, RHM, Cd 229.) Jefferson Hocker was born in 1822 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. Jefferson Hocker married Nancy Owen Webster the 27th of December 1844 in Boyle Co, Ky. Nancy Owen was born in 1828 in Ky the daughter of John Webster and Charlotte Raines who married the 9th of March 1824 in Mercer Co, Ky. Nancy Owen and Jefferson Hocker had six children, five born in Boyle Co, Ky and one born in Washington Co, Ky as follows: 1) John C Hocker was born the 25th of December 1845 in Boyle Co, Ky and died the 7th of May 1866 and is buried in the Peter Cemetery in Mackville, Washington Co, Ky. 2) Samuel B Hocker was born in 1848 in Boyle Co, Ky and married Elvira Powell the 17th of October 1872 in Boyle Co, Ky. At this time this is all we know about this couple. 3) Philip Jefferson Hocker was born the 20th of March 1853 in Boyle Co, Ky and died the 28th of September 1861 and is buried in the Peter Cemetery in Mackville, Washington Co, Ky. 4) Charlotte A Hocker was born in 1856 in Boyle Co, Ky. At this time we do not know anymore about her. 5) George Hocker was born in 1859 in Boyle Co, Ky and married Mary C “Molly”, maiden name unknown, about 1894 in Boyle Co, Ky and had a daughter, Ruth C Hocker born in Boyle Co, Ky. George Hocker died the 30th of January 1949 in Boyle Co, Ky. 6) Cleland Hocker was born in 1862 in Washington Co, Ky and was single and living in Nelson Co, Ky in 1880. 7c2b2g) Henry White Hocker (see Chapter 6c2b2g). (Source Codes – VEP83, RHM.) Henry White Hocker was born the 26th of December 1837 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. Henry White Hocker married Sophronia, maiden name unknown about 1858 in Montgomery Co, Mo. Sophronia was born in 1841 in Missouri. Sophronia and Henry White Hocker had seven children, all born in Montgomery Co, Mo as follows: 1) Tilman Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b2g1) was born in April 1859 in Montgomery Co, Mo and as shown in the 1870 Montgomery Co, Mo census was attending school. The 1880 Montgomery Co, Mo census shows Tilman Hocker was living at home and working on the farm. Tilman Hocker married Sarah E, maiden name unknown in 1881 in Montgomery Co, Mo. Sarah was born in November 1857 in Missouri. Sarah and Tilman Hocker had three children, all born in Montgomery Co, Mo. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b2g1. According to the 1910 Montgomery Co, Mo census Tilman Hocker was a blacksmith and owned his home without a mortage. As shown in the 1920 Montgomery Co, Mo census Tilman Hocker and Sarah had their widow daughter Floy [Hocker] Parsons and her two children living with them. That census also shows that Tilman Hocker owned his farm with a mortage and he was still farming. The 1930 Montgomery Co, Mo census shows Tilman Hocker and Sarah had their grandson William Emil Parsons living with them and working on the farm. 2) Mary S Hocker was born the 21st of December 1861 in Montgomery Co, Mo and was attending school according to the 1870 Montgomery Co, Mo census. As shown in the 1880 Montgomery Co, Mo census Mary Hocker was living at home with her parents. Mary S Hocker married a “Donaldson”, and that is all we know of them. Mary S [Hocker] Donaldson died the 31st of December 1949 in Missouri. 3) Amanda L Hocker was born in 1864 in Montgomery Co, Mo and as shown in the 1870 Montgomery Co, Mo census was attending school. Amanda Hocker was living at home with her parents and attending school according to the 1880 Montgomery Co, Mo census. Amanda L Hocker married George G Gilchrist the 26th of September 1897 in Arapahoe Co, Co. At this time this is all we know about this couple. 4) Sophronia “Sophia” Hocker was born in 1867 in Montgomery Co, Mo and was attending school as shown in the 1880 Montgomery Co, Mo census. Sophronia “Sophia” Hocker married Charles Grau the 31st of March 1891 in LaFayette Co, Mo. At this time this is all we know about this couple. 5) Cora Alpha Hocker was born the 21st of December 1869 in Montgomery Co, Mo and as shown in the 1880 Montgomery Co, Mo census was attending school. The 1900 Montgomery Co, Mo census Cora Alpha Hocker was living at home with her widower father. Cora Alpha Hocker married an “White” sometime after 1900. Cora Alpha [Hocker] White died the 2nd of November 1944 in Missouri. 6) Irene Hocker was born in 1873 in Montgomery Co, Mo and was living with her parents in 1880, but that is all we know about her. 7) Jesse B Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b2g7) was born in July 1874 in Montgomery Co, Mo and raised in Montgomery Co, Mo. Jesse B Hocker married Theodosia A “Dosia”, maiden name unknown in 1898 in Montgomery Co, Mo. Dosia was born in March 1870 in Missouri. Jesse Hocker was a farmer and was renting his farm as shown in the 1900 Montgomery Co, Mo census. The 1910 Montgomery Co, Mo census shows that Jesse Hocker owned his farm with a mortage. Dosia and Jesse Hocker had two daughters as of 1910, both born in Montgomery Co, Mo. For information about their daughters, see Chapter 8c2b2g7. The 1920 Boone Co, Mo census shows Jesse Hocker and Dosia with their two daughters living at 1510 Windson St, Columbia, Mo. That same 1920 census shows that Jesse Hocker is a house painter and was renting his home. 7c2b2h) William Hocker (see Chapter 6c2b2h). (Source Code – VEP83, RHM, Cd 233.) William Hocker was born the 11th of February 1839 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. William Hocker married Mary Curtis the 17th of November 1859 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Mary was born in August 1837 in Lincoln Co, Ky the daughter of Peter Curtis and Susan Barton (born 1810 Ky) who married the 23rd of December 1826 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Mary and William Hocker had five children, all born in Putnam Co, In as follows: 1) Amanda Beauregard Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b2h1) was born the 14th of April 1862 in Reelsville, Putnam Co, In and was attending school as shown in the 1870 Putnam Co, In census. Amanda Beauregard was named by her father because he felt General Beauregard was a brillant soldier and great man. According to the 1880 Wabaunsee Co, Ks census Amanda Beauregard was attending school and was living at home with her widow mother. Amanda Beauregard married Joseph Watts the 26th of December 1883 in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Joseph was born the 27th of September 1856 in Andrew Co, Mo the son of Hiram Patton Watts and Anna Thornberry. Amanda Beauregard and Joseph Watts had eight children, four lived to adulthood and all born in Morris Co, Ks. See Chapter 8c2b2h1 for information about their children. Joseph Watts was a farmer and owned his farm with a mortage as shown in the 1900 Morris Co, Ks census. The 1920 Morris Co, Ks census shows their daughter Nellie Watts was living with them and Joseph Watts was a farmer and owned his farm free of any mortage. Joseph Watts died the 5th of January 1932 and Amanda Beauregard [Hocker] Watts died the 18th of December 1948, and both died in Council Grove, Morris Co, Ks. 2) Anna Nellie Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b2h2) was born the 9th of August 1867 in Brazil, Putnam Co (now Clay Co), In and was living with her parents as shown in the 1870 Putnam Co, In census. Anna Nellie Hocker migrated with her parents in 1877 in a covered wagon from Putnam Co, In to were they lived near Immanual Church southeast of Alta Vista, Ks. According to the 1880 Wabaunsee Co, Ks census Anna Nellie Hocker was attending school and living at home with her widow mother. Anna Nellie Hocker married Warren Sherman Stewart the 20th of September 1888 in Alma, Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Warren Sherman was born in February 1868 in Ks the son of James A Stewart (born February 1844 Il, a farmer) and Jane Lewis (died about 1875 Ks) who married the 9th of October 1867 in St Louis Co, Mo. Anna Nellie and Warren Sherman Stewart had eight children, four born in Morris Co, Ks and four born in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b2h2. As shown in the 1900 Morris Co, Ks census Warren Sherman Stewart was a farmer and owned his farm free of mortage. The 1920 Wabaunsee Co, Ks census shows Anna Nellie a widow and had the following children Edgar Stewart, Eva Stewart, and Opal Stewart living with her, and she was renting her home. Warren Sherman Stewart died in 1932 and Anna Nellie [Hocker] Stewart died the 13th of July 1941 in Kansas. 3) Quindella Jane Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b2h3) was born in 1871 in Putnam Co, In and raised in Putnam Co, In and Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Quindella Jane Hocker married Robert Culver about 1886 in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Quindella Jane and Robert Culver had four children before Robert died, all born in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Quindella Jane then married Herman Bosch about 1896 in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Quindella Jane and Herman Bosch had four children, all born in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. For information about all of Quindella Jane’s children, see Chapter 8c2b2h3. Quindella Jane [Hocker] Culver Bosch died in April 1940 in Council Grove, Morris Co, Ks. 4) Oscar Lee Hocker 1 was born the 6th of May 1874 in Putnam Co, In and raised in Putnam Co, In and Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Oscar Lee Hocker died the 21st of July 1901 in Wabaunsee Co, Ks and is buried in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Beman, Morris Co, Ks. 5) Mary Belle “Mollie” Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b2h5) was born the 14th of September 1877 in Reelsville, Putnam Co, In and raised in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Mollie Hocker attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Riley Co, Ks from 1898 to 1900. According to the 1900 Wabaunsee Co, Ks census Mollie Hocker was living at home with her widow mother. Mary Belle “Mollie” Hocker married John Francis Dorgan the 30th of April 1901 in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. John Francis was born in March 1867 in Ohio the son of John Dorgan (born 1830 Ireland, a farmer) and Bridget, maiden name unknown (born 1832 Ireland) of Wabaunsee Co, Ks. Mollie and John Francis Dorgan had three daughters, all born in Wabaunsee Co, Ks. See Chapter 8c2b2h5 for information about their children. The 1920 Wabaunsee Co, Ks census shows John Francis Dorgan was a farmer and owned his farm with a mortage, and they had their three daughters living at home. Mary Belle “Mollie” [Hocker] Dorgan died the 27th of July 1954 in Chalk Mound, Ks. 7c2b2i) Charles Duncan Hocker (see Chapter 6c2b2i). (Source Code – VEP83, RHM, Cd 234.) Charles Duncan Hocker was born the 27th of October 1840 in Lincoln Co, Ky and migrated to Holt Co, Mo about 1865 with his family. Charles Duncan Hocker married Martha Lucinda McKinney the 23rd of January 1866 in Nodaway Co, Mo. Martha Lucinda was born in October 1837 in Ky the daughter of Thomas Jefferson McKinney and Jane Givens the 22nd of November 1830 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Martha Lucinda and Charles Duncan Hocker had six children, all born in Nodaway Co, Mo as follows: 1) Jefferson C Hocker was born the 12th of December 1866 in Nodaway Co, Mo and according to the 1880 Nodaway Co, Mo census he was attending school and working on the farm. Jefferson C Hocker married Lorie Seebolt in 1893 in Nodaway Co, Mo. Lorie was born in December 1872 in Mo the daughter of Jacob Seebolt (born Tn, died before 1880 Mo) and Nancy Brown (born 1819 Ky) who married the 19th of November 1843 in Jefferson Co, Ky. Lorie and Jefferson Hocker had a son, Rex Hocker born 1895 in Nodaway Co, Mo. The 1900 Nodaway Co, Mo census shows Jefferson Hocker a banker and he owned his home on East St, Guilford, Mo free of any mortage. Jefferson Hocker was the cashier at the bank of Guilford, Mo and he and Lorie had a boarder, Gertrude Compton (born June 1877 Mo, a assistant bank cashier) living with them. According to the 1930 San Diego Co, Ca census Jefferson Hocker and his wife Lorie were living in San Diego, Ca. 2) Joseph L Hocker was a twin to his sister Roxie Hocker and was born the 17th of May 1869 in Nodaway Co, Mo and as shown in the 1880 Nodaway Co, Mo census was attending school. According to the 1900 Nodaway Co, Mo census Joseph Hocker was living at home with his parents and working as a hardware merchant in Guilford, Nodaway Co, Mo. The 1920 Nodaway Co, Mo census shows Joseph Hocker was living with his widower father and farming. Joseph Hocker apparently never married. 3) Roxie Hocker a twin to her brother Joseph and was born the 17th of May 1869 in Nodaway Co, Mo. As shown in the 1900 Nodaway Co, Mo census Roxie Hocker was living at home with her parents. The 1910 Mo sndx has Roxie Hocker was living with Martha Craig in Guilford, Nodaway Co, Mo. We do not know whether Roxie Hocker ever married. 4) Amanda Jane Hocker was born the 20th of February 1871 in Nodaway Co, Mo and as shown in the 1880 Nodaway Co, Mo census was attending school. Amanda Jane Hocker married James Rymel in 1890 in Nodaway Co, Mo. James was born in October 1863 in Mo the son of Nathan Isaac Rymel (born 1829 Va, a carpenter) and Jane McClanahan (died before 1864 Mo) who married the 14th of February 1860 in Moniteau Co, Mo. James Rymel’s mother Jane died and his father then married Jane’s sister Martha M McClanahan (born June 1848 Mo) the 16th of February 1864 in Cooper Co, Mo. Amanda Jane and James Rymel had a son, Harold Rymel born March 1892 in Nodaway Co, Mo. The 1900 Nodaway Co, Mo census shows Harold Rymel was attending school. The 1900 Nodaway Co, Mo census shows James Rymel a farmer and renting his farm. According to the 1920 Nodaway Co, Mo census shows Amanda Jane and James Rymel living alone and James owning his farm free of any mortage. 5) Charles C Hocker was born the 1st of September 1873 in Nodaway Co, Mo and according to the 1880 Nodaway Co, Mo census was attending school. The 1900 Nodaway Co, Mo census has Charles Hocker living at home with his parents and working on the farm. Charles C Hocker married Lilly B, maiden name unknown about 1904 in Nodaway Co, Mo. Lilly was born the 2nd of April 1878 in Missouri. Lilly and Charles Hocker did not have any children as of 1920. The 1920 Nodaway Co, Mo census shows Charles Hocker was a farmer and owned his farm with a mortage. Lilly died the 15th of October 1972 in Guilford, Nodaway Co, Mo. 6) Ida C Hocker was born the 1st of October 1876 in Nodaway Co, Mo and as shown in the 1880 and 1900 Nodaway Co, Mo census was living at home with her parents. We believe that Ida Hocker married. 7c2b2k) Joseph Lee Hocker (see Chapter 6c2b2k). (Source Code – VEP83.) Joseph Lee Hocker was born the 1st of March 1845 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. Joseph Lee Hocker married Mary C [Ferguson ?] Pease about 1868 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Mary was born in 1851 in Kentucky and had married a “Pease”, but they divorced. In 1900 Lizzie was living in Stanislaus Co, Ca and had her widower father living with her. 4) James Hocker was born in April 1875 in Lincoln Co, Ky and as shown in the 1900 Ky sndx was living in Livingston, Rockcastle Co, Ky with his cousin and good friend David McKinney (the 1900 census says David is his brother - a mistake). James Hocker married Hattie Oindorff about 1906 in Mercer Co, Ky. James Hocker and his Hattie had a daughter, Jean Hocker born in 1908 in Mercer Co, Ky. The 1920 Mercer Co, Ky census shows that James Hocker was a railroad agent. 5) Susan Hocker was born in 1877 in Lincoln Co, Ky. That is all we know of her. 6) Joseph B Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b2k6) was born in April 1880 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. Sally was born in 1847 in Ky the daughter of Chuchill Yeager (born 1803 Va, a farmer) and Susan Stone (born 1807 Ky) who married the 20th of December 1826 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Woodford Hocker Sandidge married twice, first to Helen Hudson in 1874 in Green Co, Ky. Helen was born the 8th of January 1856 in Green Co, Ky the daughter of Drudy Hudson (born 5 March 1823 Ky, a farmer) and Elizabeth J “Bettie” Vaughan who married the 8th of March 1855 in Green Co, Ky. Francis Marion Hocker served in the union army twice, first the 2nd of May 1864 and then again the 22nd of February 1865, both in Illinois. Francis Marion Hocker married twice, first to Eliza, maiden name unknown in 1868 in McDonough Co, Il. Eliza was born in March 1844 in Illinois. Eliza and Francis Marion Hocker had seven children, all born in McDonough Co, Il. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b4g4. According in the 1870 McDonough Co, Il census Francis Marion Hocker was a laborer. Eliza died about 1913, and Francis Marion Hocker then married Ida R Rhinehart about 1916 in McDonough Co, Il. Ida was born in 1869 in Illinois. We do not know of any children from this second marriage. The 1920 Il sndx shows that Francis Marion Hocker and Ida, along with her brother Lyman Rhinehart (born 1877 Il) living with them on Bishop St, Calchester, Il. After Elizabeth F [Catlett] Hocker died then Jeremiah T Hocker married the widow Eliza Ann [Campbell] Hendrickson the 15th of November 1855 in McDonough Co, Il. Eliza Ann was born in 1823 in Tn the daughter of James Campbell (died before 1860 Il) and Susan Farmer (born 1801 Tn) who married the 3rd of September 1822 in Greene Co, Tn. The 1920 Lincoln Co, Ky census shows Samuel Marquis Helm and Nettie with Samuel’s sister Elizabeth Ann Helm and his nephew Joseph Helm living with them. Apparently Nettie and Samuel Marquis Helm did not have any children. Samuel Marquis Helm died the 26th of January 1940 in Lincoln Co, Ky and Nettie [Walker] Helm died the 23rd of August 1960 in Jefferson Co, Ky, but her residence was in Lincoln Co, Ky at the time of her death. 8) Katherine L Helm was born in 1864 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. The 1920 Ky sndx shows Eliza Ann Tucker living with her sister Sarah and her family in Boyle Co, Ky. Eliza Ann Tucker never married and died the 9th of July 1926 in Boyle Co, Ky. 4) George W Tucker (see Chapter 8c2b5e4) was born in October 1842 in Boyle Co, Ky and according to the 1850 and 1860 Boyle Co, Ky census was attending school. That 1860 census also shows George Tucker working on the farm. George W Tucker married twice, first to Margaret White the 19th of February 1879 in Boyle Co, Ky. Margaret was born in 1838 in Ky and as shown in the 1880 Marion Co, Ky census Margaret’s sister Bettie White (born 1842 Ky) was living with them. As shown in the 1880 Marion Co, Ky census George Tucker was working as a farm laborer. We do not know of any children from this marriage. Margaret died and George W Tucker then married Emma W Withrow about 1894 in Boyle Co, Ky. James T G McCormack died the 24th of October 1872 in Johnson Co, Mo. The 1880 Johnson Co, Mo census shows Eliza Darthuyla was a widow and living with her brother Larkin Hull. We find Eliza Darthuyla was the head-of-the-household and had her sister Mary F (born September 1844 Va) and her husband John M Embry (born September 1834 Ky) were living with her. As shown in the 1860 Johnson Co, Mo census Benjamin McCormack, along with his younger brothers Larkin McCormack and Julius McCormack were living with their maternal uncle Larkin Sandidge Hocker (born 20 November 1811 Ky) and his wife Eliza Jane (born 1814 Ky) and their family. Benjamin R McCormack married Emma Finch the 25th of March 1869 in Clinton Co, Mo. Emma was born in December 1851 in Missouri. Margaret Elmer was born in November 1847 in Va the daughter of Jacob Hull (born Va, died before 1869 Mo) and Nancy Jane Spoul (born 1810 Va) who married the 19th of April 1827 in Augusta Co, Va. Shortly after that Julius C McCormack migrated back to Kentucky were he married Martha E Wingate the 7th of September 1870 in Boyle Co, Ky. Martha was born in 1846 in Ky the daughter of William T Wingate (born 1812 Ky, a farmer) and Sophia Erwin Dunn (born 1812 Ky) who married the 27th of December 1837 in Mercer Co, Ky. Josephus Logan apparently died before 1860. 3) Elizabeth A “Bettie” Logan was born in 1846 in Garrard Co, Ky and as shown in the 1860 Monroe Co, Mo census was attending school. Apparently Bettie Logan, along with her sister Eve Logan and half-sister Laura Logan (whose mother had died recently in Monroe Co, Mo) migrated back to Kentucky. According to the 1870 Lincoln Co, Ky census we find Bettie Logan and her half-sister Laura Logan living with Bettie Logan’s maternal uncle William Henry Harrison Hocker. Elizabeth A “Bettie” Logan married Edward Carter the 3rd of November 1870 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Elizabeth A “Bettie” [Logan] Carter died the 21st of March 1914 in Monroe Co, Ky. Jeremiah was born in 1849 in Boyle Co, Ky the son of Jeremiah Briscoe and Elizabeth Harlan who married the 25th of August 1783 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Icyphenia and Jeremiah had two sons, before Jeremiah’s death, both born in Boyle Co, Ky as follows: 1) Samuel Hocker Briscoe (see Chapter 8c2b7e1) was born in 1846 in Boyle Co, Ky and raised in Boyle Co and Lincoln Co, Ky. Nancy Eugenetta was born in 1854 in Lincoln Co, Ky the daughter of John Sandidge (born 1817 Ky, a farmer) and Mariah Hocker (born 1816 Ky) who married the 1st of February 1841 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Apparently Nancy Eugenetta and Jeremiah did not have any children. Jeremiah Briscoe was a farmer as shown in the 1880 Lincoln Co, Ky census. That 1880 census also shows Jeremiah Briscoe’s widow mother Icyphenia was living with them along with Nancy Eugenetta’s brothers Beverly Sandidge and Payne Sandidge. According to the 1880 Lincoln Co, Ky census Icyphenia is a widow again and living with her son Jeremiah Briscoe and his wife. George was born in 1844 in Rutherford Co, Tn the son of Nathaniel Lynn Douglas (born 15 February 1801 Darlington, SC, a farmer and a tailor, died 10 April 1974 Ellis Co, Tx) and Mary “Polly” Goodloe (born 13 November 1807 Rutherford Co, Tn, died 6 May 1886 Ellis Co, Tx). Henry’s paternal grandparents are Jesse Douglas and Susannah Pride Beville. Henry’s maternal grandparents are Henry Goodloe and Rebecca Wright. Sarah Jane and John Fitzgerald Holloway had eight children, two born in Boyle Co, Ky and three born in Lamar Co, Tx, and one born, died and buried somewhere along the Great Plains, and the last two children we born in Santa Clara Co, Ca as follows: 1) Elizabeth Alice Holloway was born the 22nd of December 1847 in Perryville, Boyle Co, Ky and died the 3rd of June 1857 in Lamar Co, Tx. 2) John Fitzgerald Holloway jr (see Chapter 8c2b7j2) was born the 10th of March 1850 in Perryville, Boyle Co, Ky and when seven years old migrated with his family to Lamar Co, Tx. Then his family migrated across the plains and settled in Santa Clara Co, Ca. According to the 1870 Santa Clara Co, Ca census shows John Fitzgerald Holloway jr living at home with his parents and working as a farm hand. John Fitzgerald Holloway jr married twice, first to Gabriella E McCarley in 1872 in Santa Clara Co, Ca. Gabriella was born in 1855 in Mo the daughter of Samuel McCarley (born 1830 Ky, a farmer) and Hannah A, maiden name unknown (born 1836 Il) of Santa Clara Co, Ca. Gabriella and John Fitzgerald Holloway jr had five children, all born in Santa Clara Co, Ca. As shown in the 1880 Santa Barbara Co, Ca census John Fitzgerald Holloway jr was a farmer and he and Gabriella had two children. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b7j2. Gabriella died in 1896 and is buried in the Santa Maria Cemetery. Then John Fitzgerald Holloway jr married Mary E Ungell in 1899 in Bakersfield, Kern Co, Ca. Mary was born in October 1859 in Iowa. The 1900 Ca sndx shows John Fitzgerald Holloway jr and Mary living in Inyo Co, Ca with the following children: Edgar Clyde Holloway, Chester Elwood Holloway, Hazel Holloway, and Rowena Ersella Holloway. According to the 1910 Ca sndx John Fitzgerald Holloway jr and Mary had his daughter Rowena Ersella Holloway and Mary’s brothers George Ungell (born 1865 Mn), Matt Ungell (born 1872 Mn), and Frank Ungell (born 1875 Ia) living with them in Los Angeles Co, Ca. We find John Fitzgerald Holloway a widower and living alone in Los Angeles Co, Ca as shown in the 1920 Ca sndx. John Fitzgerald Holloway jr died in 1934 in California. 3) Icyphenia Hocker Holloway was born the 6th of September 1853 in Lamar Co, Tx and migrated with her parents to California. According to the 1870 Santa Clara Co, Ca census Icyphenia Hocker Holloway was attending school. Icyphenia Hocker Holloway died the 21st of October 1870 in Evergreen, Santa Clara Co, Ca. 4) Sarah Millard Holloway was born the 31st of August 1856 in Lamar Co, Tx and migrated with her family to California. As shown in the 1870 Santa Clara Co, census Sarah Millard Holloway was attending school. The 1880 Santa Barbara Co, Ca census shows that Sarah Millard Holloway was single, a school teacher, and renting her home. The 1900 Santa Barbara Co, Ca census shows Sarah Millard Holloway was single and renting her home and working as a teacher. Sarah Millard Holloway never married and died the 19th of October 1936 in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara Co, Ca. 5) Nancy Harrison Holloway (see Chapter 8c2b7j5) was born in 1859 in Lamar Co, Tx and migrated with her parents to California. According to the 1870 Santa Clara Co, Ca Nancy Harrison Holloway was attending school. The 1880 Santa Barbara Co, Ca census shows that Nancy Harrison Holloway was living at home with her parents and she was disabled. Nancy Harrison Holloway married Fredrick Newman the 5th of November 1881 in Santa Clara Co, Ca. Fredrick was born about 1848 in Australia and migrated to California. Nancy Harrison and Fredrick Newman had four children, all born in Santa Clara Co, Ca. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b7j5. According to the 1900 Ca sndx Nancy Harrison was a widow and had all four of her children living with her in San Jose Twp, Santa Clara Co, Ca. The 1910 Ca sndx shows Nancy Harrison still a widow with her widow daughter Marguerite Fitzgerald and her son Kenneth Carden living with her. According to the 1920 Ca sndx shows Nancy Harrison living with her son Alfred Holloway and his family. Nancy Harrison [Holloway] Newman died in 1942 in California. 6) Samuel A Holloway was born the 29th of January 1861 and died in 1861 while enroute with his family on the way to California and was buried along the Californie/Oregon trail on the Great Plains. 7) Benjamin W Holloway was born the 18th of December 1862 in Watsonville, Santa Clara Co, Ca and was attending school according to the 1870 Santa Clara Co, Ca census. The 1880 Santa Barbara Co, Ca census shows Benjamin Holloway was attending school and working on the farm. Benjamin W Holloway died the 18th of October 1883 and is buried in the Santa Maria Cemetery, Santa Barbara Co, Ca lot number 137-6. 8) Margaret L Holloway was born the 17th of February 1866 in Watsonville, Santa Clara Co, Ca and was attending school as shown in the 1880 Santa Barbara Co, Ca census. Margaret L Holloway died the 11th of May 1888 and is buried in the Santa Maria Cemetery, Santa Barbara Co, Ca lot number 137-5. 7c2b7k) Nancy Hocker (see Chapter 6c2b7k). (Source Code – Cd 229.) Benjamin Franklin was born about 1825 in Lincoln Co, Ky the son of Benjamin Durham and Sarah Batteal who married the 25th of August 1827 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Mary Ann was born in 1827 in Lincoln Co, Ky the daughter of Ephraim Bentley (born 1794 Md, a hoodmaker) and Sarah “Sally” Brenoy (born 1798 Ky) who married the 14th of November 1817 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Mary Ann and Benjamin Dunn Hocker had four children before Mary Ann’s death, all born in Lincoln Co, Ky as follows: 1) James Richard Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b8a1) was born the 27th of January 1851 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. James Richard Hocker married Ella Farr Holloway the 13th of October 1885 in Cass Co, Mo. Ella Farr was born in November 1862 in Mo the daughter of F V Holloway (born 1837 Mo, a farmer) and Mary Jane Cooper (born 1843 Mo) who married the 29th of November 1859 in Cass Co, Mo. Ella Farr and James Richard Hocker had six children, all born in Cass Co, Mo. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b8a1. According to the 1900 Cass Co, Mo census James Richard Hocker was a farmer and owned his farm free of any mortage and we find him and Ella Farr and their first five children. The 1910 Mo sndx shows James Richard Hocker and Ella Farr with all six of their children living in Cass Co, Mo. James Richard Hocker died the 6th of June 1917 in Cass Co, Mo. As shown in the 1920 Mo sndx Ella Farr is a widow and she had the following children living with her: Mabel Alice Hocker, William Hocker, and James Arthur Hocker. The 1930 Cass Co, Mo census shows the widow Ella Farr was living with her son the widower Raymond Farr Hocker. Ella Farr [Holloway] Hocker died in 1952 in Missouri and both her and James Richard Hocker are buried in the Sharon Cemetery, Bates Co, Mo. (Source Code – Cd 234.) 2) Mary F Hocker was born the 20th of May 1852 and died the 30th of January 1853 and is buried in the Goode Cemetery in Lincoln Co, Ky. 3) Margaret C “Maggie” Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b8a3) was born the 1st of August 1853 in Lincoln Co, Ky and as shown in the 1860 Lincoln Co, Ky census was attending school. Maggie Hocker migrated with her family about 1870 to Cass Co, Mo. Margaret C “Maggie” Hocker married Isaac “Ike” Arnold the 5th of October 1870 in Cass Co, Mo. Ike was born in 1847 in Ky the son of George B Arnold (born 1822 Ky, a farmer) and Mary Ann Robinson (born 1829 Ky) who married the 1st of September 1845 in Garrard Co, Ky. Maggie and Ike Arnold had four children before Margaret died, all born in Cass Co, Mo. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b8a3. According to the 1880 Cass Co, Mo census Ike Arnold was a widower and working as the county treasurer. That 1880 census shows Ike Arnold’s widow sister Patience [Arnold] Conn (born 1835 Ky) and niece Lizzie Starmaker (born 1860 Mo) were living with Ike Arnold. Ike Arnold then married his late wife’s first cousin Laura Hocker the 13th of April 1882 in Cass Co, Mo. For information about this couple see paragraph 7c2b8e5. (Source Code – Cd 234.) 4) Mary Ann (Sue ?) Hocker was born the 10th of April 1855 in Lincoln Co, Ky and was attending school according to the 1870 Cass Co, Mo census. Mary Ann (Sue ?) Hocker married Andrew G Bradbury the 15th of January 1871 in Cass Co, Mo. Andrew was born in 1846 in Tn the son of Leonard Bradbury (born September 1821 Mo, a farmer) and Nancy A Murphy (born 1820 Tn) who married the 2nd of October 1843 in Clay Co, Mo. Andrew’s paternal grandparents are Walter Bradbury (born 1766 NC, a farmer) and Charity Chishell (born 1793 Ga) who married the 16th of December 1813 in St Charles Co, Mo. Mary Ann and Andrew Bradbury had a son as of 1880, Arthur Bradbury born in 1879 in Cass Co, Mo. Andrew Bradbury was a farmer according to the 1880 Cass Co, Mo census. Mary Ann [Hocker] Bradbury died in 1934 in Missouri. (Source Code – Cd 234.) After Mary Ann [Bentley] Hocker died then Benjamin Dunn Hocker married Julia Ann [Green] Dunn the 20th of October 1856 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Julia Ann was born the 29th of August 1826 in Lincoln Co, Ky the daughter of John B Green and Margaret Barnett who married the 6th of March 1822 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Julia Ann and Benjamin Dunn Hocker had five children that we know of, all born in Lincoln Co, Ky as follows: 5) Elizabeth Belle Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b8a5) was born the 10th of September 1857 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky and Cass Co, Mo. According to the 1870 Cass Co, Mo census Elizabeth Belle Hocker was attending school. Elizabeth Belle Hocker married widower Oliver Howard Stevens about 1874 in Cass Co, Mo. Oliver Howard was born in 1847 in Illinois and had been married previously and had a son, Walter C Stevens (born 1873 Mo) who was living with them. Elizabeth Belle and Oliver Howard Stevens had two children as of 1880, born in Cass Co, Mo. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b8a5. As shown in the 1920 Wy sndx we find them living in Laramie Co, Wy and Elizabeth Belle’s brother Benjamin Dunn Hocker was living with them. 6) Joseph Edwin Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b8a6) born the 31st of October 1859 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky and Cass Co, Mo. Joseph Edwin Hocker was attending school as shown in the 1870 Cass Co, Mo census. The 1880 Cass Co, Mo census has Joseph Edwin Hocker living at home with his parents and working as a laborer. Joseph Edwin Hocker married his first cousin (see paragraph 7c2b8e9) Julia Woods Hocker the 2nd of December 1886 in Cass Co, Mo. Julia Woods was born the 5th of August 1863 in Lincoln Co, Ky the daughter of Tilman Logan Hocker (born 18 July 1820 Ky, a farmer, died 22 July 1888 Mo) and Sarah Woods Morrison (born 3 February 1826 Ky, died 22 March 1885 Mo) who married the 19th of June 1843 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Julia Woods and Joseph Edwin Hocker had five children, all born in Cass Co, Ky. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b8a6. The 1900 Cass Co, Mo census shows that Joseph Edwin Hocker was a farmer who was renting his farm and shows their first two children. According to the 1910 and 1920 Mo sndx has Joseph Edwin Hocker and Julia Woods living in Cass Co, Mo with their sons, Raymond James Hocker and Edwin Green Hocker. Joseph Edwin Hocker died the 28th of July 1923 in Mo. As shown in the 1930 Cass Co, Mo census Julia Woods was a widow and she was living with her son Edwin Green Hocker and his family. Julia Woods [Hocker] Hocker died in 1930 in Mo and both her and her husband are buried in the Sharon Cemetery in Bates Co, Mo. (Source Code – Cd 234.) 7) Sarah Woods Hocker was born the 8th of January 1862 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky and Cass Co, Mo. We find Sarah Woods Hocker living at home with her parents as shown in the 1870 Cass Co, Mo census. The 1880 Cass Co, Mo census shows Sarah Woods Hocker living at home with her parents. Sarah Woods Hocker died the 21st of March 1885 in Cass Co, Mo and is buried in the Sharon Cemetery, Bates Co, Mo. 8) Alice Green Hocker was born the 6th of March 1864 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky and Cass Co, Mo. According to the 1870 Cass Co, Mo census Alice Green Hocker was living at home with her parents. Alice Green Hocker died in 1874 in Cass Co, Mo. 9) Benjamin Dunn Hocker jr was born the 19th of August 1867 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Cass Co, Mo. The 1870 Cass Co, Mo census shows Benjamin Dunn Hocker jr was attending school and living at home with his parents. As shown in the 1900 Cass Co, Mo census Benjamin Dunn Hocker jr was living at home with his widow mother and working on the farm. According to the 1910 Mo sndx we find Benjamin Dunn Hocker jr living with George J Parker in Cass Co, Mo. The 1920 Wy sndx shows Benjamin Dunn Hocker living in Laramie Co, Wy with his sister Elizabeth Belle and her family. Benjamin Dunn Hocker never married and died the 4th of April 1926 in Everett, Cass Co, Mo and is buried in the Sharon Cemetery in Bates Co, Mo. 7c2b8b) Samuel Hocker (see Chapter 6c2b8b). (Source Code – Cd 229.) Samuel Hocker was born the 8th of April 1814 in Lincoln Co, Ky and raised in Lincoln Co, Ky. Samuel Hocker married three times, first to Amanda Scanland the 28th of November 1838 in Marion Co, Ky. Amanda was born in 1822 in Ky the daughter of John Scanland and Sally Stallings who married the 16th of February 1820 in Washington Co, Ky. Amanda and Samuel Hocker had five children before Amanda’s early death, all born in Marion Co, Ky as follows: 1) John Wesley Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b8b1) was born the 13th of January 1840 in Marion Co, Ky and according to the 1850 Marion Co, Ky census was attending school. John Wesley Hocker was living with Samuel Hocker and his wife Matilda and working as a dry goods clerk according to the 1860 Lincoln Co, Ky census. John Wesley Hocker married Josephine B “Josie” Bailey the 24th of October 1861 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Josephine was born in October 1840 in Lincoln Co, Ky the daughter of William C Bailey and Elizabeth Cloyd who married the 3rd of August 1819 in Lincoln Co, Ky. Josephine and John Wesley Hocker had five children, all born in Lincoln Co, Ky. For information about their children, see Chapter 8c2b8b1. As shown in the 1870 Lincoln Co, Ky census John Wesley Hocker was a retail merchant. The 1880 Ky sndx shows the following children living at home: William Hocker, Harrison Hocker, James Hocker, and Lucille Hocker. According to the 1900 Lincoln Co, Ky census John Wesley Hocker was the cashier at the bank and he owned his home free of any mortage and they had the following children living at home: James Hocker, Susan Hocker, and Helen Hocker. John Wesley Hocker died the 7th of February 1862 and is buried in the Old Liberty Cemetery. (Source Code – Cd 233.) 2) Sarah “Sallie” Elizabeth Hocker (see Chapter 8c2b8b2) was born the 5th of September 1843 in Labanon, Marion Co, Ky and was attending school according to the 1850 Marion Co, Ky census. Sarah Elizabeth Hocker married Joel Thomas Pruitt the 30th of January 1863 in Labanon, Marion Co, Ky. Joel Thomas was born the 31st of May 1837 in Marion Co, Ky the son of Meredith Pruitt (born 1805 Ky, a farmer) and Martha Drain (born 1807 Ky) who married the 10th of August 1829 in Washington Co, Ky. Sarah Elizabeth and Joel Thomas Pruitt had two sons, both born in Marion Co, Ky. For information about their sons, see Chapter 8c2b8b2. Joel Thomas Pruitt was a farmer as shown in the 1870 Marion Co, Ky census. Joel Thomas Pruitt died the 4th of August 1894 in Lebanon, Marion Co, Ky. According to the 1920 Jefferson Co, Ky census the widow Sarah Elizabeth was living with her son John Wesley Pruitt and his family. Sarah Elizabeth [Hocker] Pruitt died the 3rd of December 1925 died in Lebanon, Marion Co, Ky.

  1. Where are these Chapters that are referred too? My Hocker lineage is on this page and I am trying to research the people I knew as a child that were my Great Aunts and Uncles, and my Mothers Aunts and Uncles. My Mother is the only child of Dewey Victor Hocker of Colchester, IL.
