I was raised in the Dark Ages. When I was very young, I locked myself in my room for years. There was nothing to do.
My father told me everything I was to know in life. I coud not request any other information. The Father of the house ruled over the wife and chidren. The old saying "Women and children are to be sen and not heard" was a Very serious rue. No one was allowed to talk or ask questions. Anyone breaking that rule was beaten. Females had no rights up to the year 1970. They were told they had rights to silence them. Therewere no access to books at that time.
There was no television for years; or newspapers. A "News Announcer" stood on his driveway and called out; loudly, any news of the neighborhood. I;secretly, called him the "Town Crier".
Years later, black and white televisions came out with ony Charley Chan shows. There was no sound; so, I did not watch it. There were no gameslike chess, monopoly; or other board games as well as basketball, footbal; or, other sports games. Boys stood in ditches or in the road; and, talked about only things everyone already knew. No one was alowed to discuss "Special" information for their households.
Later, mono record players were avaiable.
There was only a school and store. Nothing else was around the area.
In 3rd Grade, A test law was passed;nationwide, for integrating cultures of people. That was the first time I had ever seen a EuroAfrican boy. He was homosexual; and ran after me to kiss me. I thought he was from another star and maybe was cannabalistic. I asked him where he came from. He said a specific town. I asked him where he came from before then. He said he was born in that town. He asked if I meant his parents. I told him "Yes". He said some specific town. I thought he was concealing being exraterrestrial to take over the world.
Any females or chidren who were rebelious; or who fought against the public, was beaten to death.
