7a2a1a) Dr Graflon Duvall (see Chapter 6a2a1a). Graflon Duvall1 was born the 10th of June 1780 in Frederick Co, Md and raised in Frederick Co, Md. Dr Graflon Duvall married Elizabeth Whittaker the 8th of May 1804 in Frederick Co, Md by Rev George Bower. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Hawkins Esq. Elizabeth and Dr Graflon Duvall had eleven children, all born in Frederick Co, Md as follows: 1) Sarah Ann Duvall was born the 20th of January 1805 in Frederick Co, Md and raised in Frederick Co, Md. Sarah Ann Duvall married Dr Robert Dorsey the 20th of July 1826 in Frederick Co, Md. Dr Robert Dorsey was an M D. Sarah Ann and Dr Robert Dorsey settled at Relay House, Md. Sarah Ann [Duvall] Dorsey died there. We do not know if they had any children. 2) Alexander Thomas Hawkins Duvall was born the 10th of August 1807 in Frederick Co, Md and raised in Frederick Co, Md. Alexander Thomas Hawkins Duvall married twice, first to Miss Johnson and they migrated to Louisiana. Then Alexander Thomas Hawkins Duvall married Sarah Jane Williams the 6th of July 1848 in Wilkinson Co, Ms. During the Civil War Alexander Thomas Hawkins Duvall returned to Frederick Co, Md and died. 3) Houston Duvall was born and died in childhood in Frederick Co, Md. 4) Julia Duvall was born and died in childhood in Frederick Co, Md. 5) Algernon Duvall was born the 23rd of January 1813 in Frederick Co, Md and raised in Frederick Co, Md. Algernon Duvall married Miss Green and migrated to Mississippi where he practiced law. Algernon Duvall and his wife had three daughters, born in Mississippi. Algernon Duvall died in Mississippi. 6) Gabriella Duvall was born and died in infancy in Frederick Co, Md. 7) Elizabeth Lawrence Duvall was born and died in childhood in Frederick Co, Md. 8) Virginia Claggett Duvall was born the 6th of December 1818 in Frederick Co, Md and raised in Frederick Co, Md. Virginia Claggett Duvall married Dr Thomas P Harrison the 4th of December 1838 in Baltimore Co, Md. Dr Thomas Harrison was a M D and from Mississippi. 9) Henry Claggett Duvall sr (see Chapter 8a2a1a9) was born the 15th of January 1821 in Frederick Co, Md and raised in Frederick Co, Md. Henry Claggett Duvall sr was educated at Mt Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Frederick Co, Md. Henry Claggett Duvall sr married Sarah M Claggett the 29th of November 1842 in Frederick Co, Md. Sarah was the daughter of Thomas John Claggett and Sophia Martin who married the 3rd of December 1811 in Montgomery Co, Md. Sarah and Henry Claggett Duvall sr had two sons, both born in Frederick Co, Md. For information abouth their sons, see Chapter 8a2a1a9. In 1861 Henry Claggett Duvall sr and his wife and sons moved to Louisiana, where he farmed and was a commission merchant. Henry Claggett Duvall sr died in January 1863 in Louisiana and is buried in the Episcopal Church cemetery in Oak Ridge, La. When Henry Claggett Duvall sr died he left his wife and sons in straitened circumstances. (Source Code – Cd 224.) 10) James L Hawkins Duvall was born the 31st of December 1822 in Frederick Co, Md and raised in Frederick Co, Md. James L Hawkins Duvall married Miss Kemp who lived near Frederick City, Frederick Co, Md. James L Hawkins Duvall and his wife lived in most of their lifes in Baltimore, Md. 11) Mary Elizabeth Duvall was born the 20th of May 1826 in Frederick Co, Md and raised in Frederick Co, Md. Mary Elizabeth Duvall married Samuel Hoogereff. Mary Elizabeth and Samuel Hoogereff lived in Relay House, Md.
